DANCE

Last Saturday all the girls in the Fredericksburg  stake got all dressed up.  They were ready for the stake prom dance.I spent about two hours in advance trying to do my hair!  As you may see I  decided to use a '50's hair style called the "beehive".  The name is rather obvious!  My mom said once a black widow nested in a lady's hair like that, and bit her! lol!  It took me forever because I had to rat my hair, I looked like David Bowie by the time I was done!  But as you can see I had my mom help me out so it looked fine! haha.  My mother made my dress, and she made the shrug for Clarissa's!  Isn't she wonderful!  I am glad I am blessed with a mother who cares enough to go through all that trouble to do some thing that nice for me.  She is so giving, and so kind all the time.  Thanks Mom!

My mother took pictures of
me and Clarissa before the dance.  (Clarissa with one of her many poses)

The dance was fun, Me and Clarissa invited Jakob and Danielle to come along with us, and their friend (now our friend too) Matthew.  :)

We had a great time dancing,  well I had a good time....  The dance decorations were a little silly, it looked as if they had
draped trash bags from the ceilings!  lol!  But at
least they tried to make it look nice.  haha.  All of us there thought it made it look like a haunted house. (they were black and white)  And the trash bags kept falling off down! haha!
But it was fun.  :)  Clarissa decided to play in the bubbles, and people came all around her, about ten of us, and started taking pictures of her! lol!  She is so photogenic!  She would just pose for every one! haha!

Here are a few pictures form the dance!  Hope you enjoy them!  :)  <3

I had also gone to another Stake prom dance a couple week
s before, at which me and my date (Jakob)  had a very enjoyable time, although we did
get terribly lost at one point!  lol! But it was fun gettin
g lost! We ate dinner at this super nice house, with antique furniture, crystal goblets, silver, and beautiful china.  It was very nice!  We were also with Jakob's sister Danielle, and her date Daniel.  :)  And  friend of theirs, Stephanie.  it was v
ery fun, and I
had a blast!  Thank you so much for inviting me Jakob!  I would add pictures but they are all on my mother's computer.  So I will add a picture of me and Jakob some one took at this last dance, though I laugh, because it is a  super bad picture, but it seams to be the only on of us! haha!

Mom said I had to add this picture, she said Jakob looked "so GQ"  (Gentleman's Quarterly) lol!  So here it is! haha.  :)

Ok... ummm since writing all the above, i finally got pix onto my computer, so yeah here are some real pix of me and jake.  :)  these are some of my favs... i don't have time to upload more.. but here are three.  :)

BEAUTY!

Me and my friend Anna went down to an art show last week, down in a little country town out in the middle of no where.  It was held at a very cute little church, built a long time ago.  We had fun on the way up, listening to country music, and jabbering as only girls know how.  :)

The art show though was not too impressive, every thing that got a prize was abstract, or modern.  The art that was really truly beautiful did not even get an honorable mention!

Me and Anna both put a piece of art in this show, I wished I hadn't, because I didn't want it judged with the other stuff around it. Anna was surprised to find her water color in the oil painting section! BUt there were some very pretty pieces of art, i feel the judges must have been blind, or unfeeling to real beauty.  Because what they picked was not even what should be considered works of art... But every men to himself right?

So after all this we decided to go outside and take millions of pictures of the church, which ended up turning into us taking photo  shots of one another!  lol!  But we had a grand time!  There was this big old, old, old tree with very twisty branches, so we climbed up into it, and continued our picture taking!  lol!

I learned that you can find real art if you look for it, but sometimes people just want a shock, because it amazes them so much they decide to embrace it, when really it is nothing, splatter art may look cool for a moment, but if our world looked like that we would be in constant nervousness, and constantly being shocked.  But real beauty makes you feel uplifted, and full of joy.

"The artist is the creator of beautiful tings,
to reveal art and conceal the artist is art's aim.
The critic is he who can translate into another manor or a new material his impression of beautiful things.
The highest, as the lowest, form of criticism is a mode of autobiography.
Those who find ugly meanings in beautiful things are corrupt with out being charming. This is a fault.
Those who find beautiful meanings in beautiful things are the cultivated, for these there is hope.
They are the elect to whom beautiful things only mean beauty."
-Oscar Wilde

This is what I am striving to see, I know I do not always, but I want to try!

But all in all I had a very enjoyable day, and loved every minute of it!

Hello It's ME!

HEllo every one!  Here is my first post!  Welcome to my brand new blog!  Here I will share my art, my thoughts, and all my adventures! Have fun with them!

You are probably wondering why my name is "ducky girl"  Simple answer is that before I was born my mother asked Zachary (my older brother age 5 at the time)  what he thought was a good name for me.  His answer was "duckduck".  So, forever giving me the endearing nickname!
