BEAUTY!

Me and my friend Anna went down to an art show last week, down in a little country town out in the middle of no where.  It was held at a very cute little church, built a long time ago.  We had fun on the way up, listening to country music, and jabbering as only girls know how.  :)

The art show though was not too impressive, every thing that got a prize was abstract, or modern.  The art that was really truly beautiful did not even get an honorable mention!

Me and Anna both put a piece of art in this show, I wished I hadn't, because I didn't want it judged with the other stuff around it. Anna was surprised to find her water color in the oil painting section! BUt there were some very pretty pieces of art, i feel the judges must have been blind, or unfeeling to real beauty.  Because what they picked was not even what should be considered works of art... But every men to himself right?

So after all this we decided to go outside and take millions of pictures of the church, which ended up turning into us taking photo  shots of one another!  lol!  But we had a grand time!  There was this big old, old, old tree with very twisty branches, so we climbed up into it, and continued our picture taking!  lol!

I learned that you can find real art if you look for it, but sometimes people just want a shock, because it amazes them so much they decide to embrace it, when really it is nothing, splatter art may look cool for a moment, but if our world looked like that we would be in constant nervousness, and constantly being shocked.  But real beauty makes you feel uplifted, and full of joy.

"The artist is the creator of beautiful tings,
to reveal art and conceal the artist is art's aim.
The critic is he who can translate into another manor or a new material his impression of beautiful things.
The highest, as the lowest, form of criticism is a mode of autobiography.
Those who find ugly meanings in beautiful things are corrupt with out being charming. This is a fault.
Those who find beautiful meanings in beautiful things are the cultivated, for these there is hope.
They are the elect to whom beautiful things only mean beauty."
-Oscar Wilde

This is what I am striving to see, I know I do not always, but I want to try!

But all in all I had a very enjoyable day, and loved every minute of it!
